A Summer of Gilbert and Sullivan

It's been a fabulous Summer for Gilbert and Sullivan. As well as enjoying Ruddigore in Tatton Park, Bernie and I have been G&S Opera Company groupies, following them from Buxton to Harrogate, as they performed at the G&S International Festival and for a smaller, more select group, at the Buxton Opera House!

The Opera Company just goes from strength to strength with a troupe of fabulous performers. This year they gave us the Mikado, Pirates of Penzance and a novel mix up of HMS Pinafore and Trial by Jury. All of the operas were fantastic although I think that the Mikado was probably the best performance this year. The patter songs were so clever and brought up to date with references to Brexit and UKIP. The audience certainly enjoyed this!

Anyway, that's enough G&S for now. Hopefully there will be a little bit more before the Summer ends.
