Overnight in Anglesey

A few weeks ago we spent a night at Beaumaris on Anglesey and then meandered back through North Wales the following day.
As we left Beaumaris the choppy sea was especially eye-catching
As we drove round the island we came across a secluded cove at Traeth Bychan
The tide was well out

Pebbles and shells on the beach
The weather was glorious at Caernarfon Castle
The castle was designed to be intimidating
The castle is recognised as one of the best surviving medieval buildings in the world

St Asaph Cathedral, said to be the smallest Anglican cathedral in Britain
Not much remains of Denbigh Castle but the setting is very peaceful
The position, on top of a hill overlooking the town, gives excellent views
Centuries of attacks have taken their toll
This tower, near the castle, is all that remains of a local church
