Hawarden

Last week we met a close friend in Hawarden at the Glynne Arms. We decided to overnight at Gladstone's Library in Hawarden. The Library is a wonderfully quirky place to stay - bed, breakfast and books is the way it's described, and it's a very accurate description.

Whilst we were in Hawarden we explored both castles, the original Norman castle and the eighteenth century castle, home of the former British prime minister William Ewart Gladstone.

We had beautiful autumnal weather for exploring the castles and the parkland. After a walk we popped to the Hawarden Farm Shop for a spot of food shopping.
