De Morgan at Blackwell

Blackwell, the Arts and Crafts house overlooking Windermere, has an exhibition of the works of William De Morgan, the ceramicist who worked closely with William Morris. His speciality was ornate bowls and tiles, and his style was heavily influenced by exotic Eastern designs, colours and glazes. The designs often include fantastic beasts and subjects from nature.

The results are absolutely stunning.

The exhibition is at Blackwell until October: I’m sure we’ll be back.
