We spent a lovely day in the Lakes on Saturday, lunch at Thornthwaite Gallery and then a visit to Grasmere and Sam Read's Bookshop.
Sam Read's changed hands not very long ago, and I was concerned that the stock wouldn't be as good. We have been a few times and left empty handed, which is almost unheard of for us! But, on this occasion the stock was amazing, and we left with a very large pile of books! This is such great news, as Sam Read's has always been one of our favourite bookshops, and it's great to know that it is back on excellent form.
And then we enjoyed a visit to Waterstone’s in York, and acquired another small pile of books.
So there’s plenty to read now!
