Darling Buds of May

The weather for the past several weeks has been very dry, very sunny, and very still. We’ve noticed a huge amount of May blossom (Hawthorn) wherever we go - it’s usually quite short-lived but this year it’s hanging on for longer than normal.

So Shakespeare’s words don’t seem to apply this year:

“Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date”
