After our trip to Acorn Bank on Saturday I was inspired to purchase a copy of The Cranesbill Caravan. This book describes Dorothy Una Ratcliffe's travels in a Romani caravan, mostly through the Lake District and Yorkshire. She blends personal anecdotes, poetry and observations of rural life in her storyteller, and this is part travelogue and part celebration of life on the open road.
I chose my copy of The Cranesbill Caravan carefully, but I was amazed when the book arrived in the post. As well as a beautifully presented book, it was also signed and included a Valentine card, sent by Ratcliffe.
I am delighted!
