Intimate Notes - Manchester Baroque

On Saturday we went to a Manchester Baroque concert in St Anne's Square, in Manchester. The musicians performed a variety of music composed by the Bach family. As well as the father (Johann Sebastian), there was music by the rarely performed sons Johann Christian, Johann Christoph Friederich, Carl Philipp Emanuel and Wilhelm Friedemann. Telemann was also included in the performance as he was the Godfather to CPE.

The selection of music was really interesting, and much we hadn't heard before. The music is all played on historically accurate instruments and this adds to the beauty of the performances, as well as the authenticity.

We had a lovely few hours, listening to gorgeous music, in a wonderful setting. We're already looking forward to the next concert!
