When we visited Morland Hall’s garden in June it was a mass of colourful flowers, particularly roses of all shades. Today, a month into autumn, it was very different: a mass of apples, quince and rose hips with just a few late flowers. Most eye-catching were the carpets of autumn crocus but there were marigolds and even a few dahlias.
