St John’s Ruins, Chester

We found ourselves in Chester the other day and before leaving we explored the ruins of St John’s church. Dating from the 12th century, St John’s was for a period the city’s cathedral. Following the dissolution, the building became the parish church and part of the east end was demolished and is today in ruins.

The nearby park was alive with squirrels which were a source of amusement.

We even caught sight of Paddington!
