Yesterday was the penultimate day of Tullie’s Colour exhibition. We’ve been planning to visit all through January but, for one reason or another, this hadn’t happened. But yesterday the stars aligned and we drove up to Carlisle. Fortunately the weather was lovely, cold and bright, so we enjoyed the beautiful drive through the hills.
The exhibition was wonderful, the colours exhilarating. I love colour, so seeing so many and varied pieces of art displayed in one place, was amazing. It was Kaffe Fasset’s work which had originally attracted me to the exhibition. I fell in love with his work in the late 1980s, when I did manage to knit a couple of his jumpers. They were certainly challenging, but the colours and textures fantastic. I was fascinated to discover that he has now turned his talents to fabric, especially quilts.

Such a lovely and colourful thing to do in the depths of winter.
