A visit to Bath in deepest, darkest January seemed a good idea last summer, but when the day came we were a bit concerned that the weather might be inclement. Thankfully, the weather was great, we just missed Storm Chandra although we saw some of the aftermath on our journey.
The main reason for our visit was a trip to the Theatre Royal to see The Rivals, but we managed to fit in a few other treats including, of course, some bookshopping in Toppings. We had a delicious brunch in the Pump Rooms, listening to some delightful piano music. The Abbey was looking wonderful, as ever, and I enjoyed walking through Abbey Green. Abbey Green is the setting for many of Jane Shaw's novels and has changed little since she wrote them in the 1950s.
