Books from Main Street Trading

We were delighted with our haul of new books from Main Street Trading in St Boswell’s. It's a great time of year for newly published books, so we came away with a good selection.

There is also a really nice cafe and a deli, selling yummy food and homewares. We enjoyed some delicious soup for lunch, and then coffee to restore us after our browsing and purchasing.

Main Street Trading is one of our favourite bookshops, with a thoughtfully curated collection of interesting books. We always leave with some books we didn't know we wanted!

On this occasion I was delighted with a new L J Ross crime novel, appropriately entitled Berwick, as well as Justine Picarde's Fashioning the Crown: A Story of Power, Conflict and Couture.

Chris was pleased with  Mary Berry's My Gardening Life and Elizabeth Alker's Everything We Do Is Music.

We also bought Alan Bennett's Enough Said, his fourth collection of diaries and prose. Chris has already started reading this, so it's not in the photo. I do love it when he reads excerpts to me. Bennett is just so amusing.
