The last week of May has been extremely hot, unseasonably hot, and far too hot for me. It’s been far too hot for most people, I think.
Temperatures reached 31.5°C in Liverpool and only a degree or so lower at home. It was too hot to work, too hot to sleep and too hot to think most of the time!
We were luckier in the North than further South and in the Midlands. The highest temperature recorded was 35.1°C at Kew Gardens. I’m not sure I would have functioned at all!
It’s cooled off, for now, and I, for one, am looking forward to some rain. Clearly my Celtic heritage doesn’t cope well with Mediterranean temperatures and climate.
But we did have some gorgeous sunsets and it’s almost the second full moon of May, too.
