To avoid the crowds, we enjoyed a drive through the Lyth Valley. We love this area. It’s so close to the most popular part of the Lake District but, even on a sunny day in the summer holidays, the roads here were quiet.
The area is full of fruit trees of all types and we’ll be back in about a month to collect some Westmorland Damsons - a variety unique to the Lyth Valley.
