After doing lots of jobs in the house and garden on Saturday we wanted a late lunch and a trip to a bookshop. So we decided to have lunch at Upfront Gallery, in the wonderfully named village of Unthank, followed by a browse round Verey Books, in Ullswater.
Upfront Gallery has long been a favourite, especially as it has a vegetarian café. There is also a gallery exhibiting local artists and, unusually, a puppet theatre!
After a delicious lunch, we wandered around the gallery admiring some beautiful paintings. To our delight the upstairs is now open with a wonderful display of puppets and puppet theatres. We have quite a large collection of Pelham Puppets ourselves, so we were very interested in all of the puppets on display, especially the Pelham Puppets!
